St George's is much more than just an historic building. It’s a hard-working church that serves the community in Mayfair and beyond. There are regular services held each day, except for Saturdays, plus many other services throughout the year. Our special celebrations at Christmas and Easter, and also our Patron St George's feast, are the highlights of our year.

St George’s is first and foremost a living place of Anglican liturgy and worship, with our main Sunday Eucharist sung by our superb choir.

Services are held each day (except Saturday) and use the traditional language of the Book of Common Prayer.

All our services are free of charge, and any one can and is welcome to attend.

Holy Communion:

At the Last Supper, the final meal that Jesus Christ shared with his disciples before his arrest and crucifixion, he gave them bread and wine, and invited them to ‘do this in remembrance of me’. Our mid-week Holy Communion/Mass/Eucharist services follow the Book of Common Prayer and are said. The service lasts around 25 minutes.

Morning Calm:

During university term time we start each weekday with Morning Calm. At this short event, we are joined by the best young pianists from the Royal College of Music who play a suitable selection of pieces for between 7-10 minutes. This is followed by a short period of silence/reflection/meditation, and for those who wish to stay, ends with the Lord's Prayer, a Collect for the day, and the Grace. Morning Calm lasts for around 15 minutes and offers a short period of reflection contemplation and relaxation before the challenges of the day begin.
